MS didn't care for it at the jump. They're concentration in Digital Downloads. Toshiba lost 10x than MS did. So now it's Blu-Ray vs. Apple, MS, Netflix, Comcast, AT&T and other companies that provides DD services. HD-DVD was an option.

When Warner Bros. went Blu, I traded all of my HD-DVD's for a 80gig PS3 for $35.00. Cherchez La Ghost never rides on sinking ships. I would have did the same if Blu-Ray were in the same spot HD-DVD is now.

Who approved this crap?! The 360 had big problems, MS delt with this problem with a free 3-year replacement warranty. But the fact is the PS3 should not be the #1 Blu-Ray player on the market. That was one of the best factors of HD-DVD that it can update with firmware. I do feel for consumers who have spent over $500+ for a Blu-Ray player that cannot have a firmware update. Commenting on what you said, I don't see Blu-Ray going obsolete anytime soon. God-forbid HD-VMD gains strength to rival Blu-Ray.
